Our baiting begins the first week of May and by the time your hunt starts, the bears are well accustomed to the baits and baiting activity. We will provide you with trail cam photos and advise you of the activity at your bait sites.
All baits have stands and / or ground blinds in place or are ready for your own. We set up each of the baits as if we were hunting it ourselves.
We will initially take you to your baited areas after which transportation to and from the baits is your responsibility.
Most people come here with a truck and park 300 to 500 yards from their designated hunting spot and walk in and out at their leisure.
We will provide assistance with the retrieval of a downed animal and a clean space to gut and skin your bear.
We have freezer facilities and can arrange for your bear to be butchered, frozen and prepared for your trip home.
The fur on a spring bear is far superior to that of a fall bear and we can help with deciding on how to proceed with your trophy once it is out of the woods.
The actual bear hunting season opens May 1st but bear feeding at the beginning of the season is sparse therefore we wait till the baits are hit everyday before we set you up to get one.
You will need to get your
Ontario outdoors card and Ontario non-resident black bear hunting license
(it is advised to order your license online ahead of time in order to avoid hunting delays)
We provide you with:
- Waterfront accommodations - An orientation meeting on your day of arrival - Two active baits per hunter with well-maintained stands and shooting lanes - Professional guiding - Tracking, retrieval, skinning and gutting of your bear - Freezer storage
